Opioid story? Share it in our upcoming magazine

We want to hear from you!

HeretoHelp produces Visions magazine, and stories from it are featured throughout the website and in our print publication. Your story could help tens of thousands of people--in BC and beyond.

Our upcoming issues of Visions is focusing on Opioids. We are not just looking at the fentanyl crisis or use in inner cities, but the bigger picture of opioid use as well. We'd especially like to hear from people whose stories have not been in the media yet.

(Opioid drugs include painkillers such as morphine, methadone, Buprenorphine, hydrocodone, and oxycodone. Heroin is also an opioid. Opioid drugs sold under brand names include OxyContin®, Percocet®, Palladone® (taken off the market 2005), Vicodin®, Percodan®, Tylox® and Demerol® among others.)

To write for us, you should live in British Columbia and use or have used opioids, with or without a co-existing mental health problem. You should be receiving some kind of support around your use, if you are still using. Family members and front-line clinicians are welcome to contact us as well. If privacy is a concern, you can write under a fake name.

If this sounds like you, get in touch with us today! Articles are less than 2 pages long and you'd have a month to write.  And remember you don't have to be a "writer" to write for Visions. Our professional editor will work with you to shape your story. If you can write an email and have a story to tell, you can write for us. You'd even be eligible for a $75 honorarium after publication if we ok you to write. Interested? Please don't start writing just yet. Contact us at visions@heretohelp.bc.ca first and share a couple of sentences about your perspective, and please include your community name, and a phone number as well!

Deadline to contact us expressing interest: October 1, 2017
