School or campus counsellor story? Share it in our upcoming magazine

We want to hear from you!

HeretoHelp produces Visions magazine, and stories from it are featured throughout the website and in our print publication. Your story could help tens of thousands of people--in BC and beyond.

Our upcoming issues of Visions is focusing on Young People: Self-Injury where we are defining young people as approximately 12-25, and self-injury as self-harm without suicidal intent.

We'd like to hear from a clinician--a counsellor at a school or campus--who can talk about their experiences working with youth who self-injury: what they have noticed, challenges for teachers/parents/counsellors, anecdotes, promising approaches, worries, fears, role of the internet/friends—any insights like these. You don't have to be an “expert” either; just front-line experience working with young people with self-injury is enough. If privacy is a concern, you can also write under a fake name.

If this sounds like you, get in touch with us today!

Articles are less than 2 pages long and you'd have a month to write.  And remember you don't have to be a "writer" to write for Visions. Our professional editor will work with you to shape your story. If you can write an email and have a story to tell, you can write for us. Interested? Please don't start writing just yet. Contact us at visions@heretohelp.bc.ca first and share a couple of sentences about your perspective, and please include your community name, and a phone number as well!

Deadline to contact us expressing interest: June 15, 2017
