Have a mindfulness story? Share it and you could get $75!

We want to hear from you!

HeretoHelp produces Visions magazine, and stories from it are featured throughout the website and in our print publication.

One of our upcoming issues of Visions is focusing on Mindfulness and how it relates to mental well-being, and recovery from mental health or substance use problems.

We're currently looking for contributors who have used (or tried to use) mindfulness to improve mental well-being and can share the helpful and/or not so helpful sides of this intervenion in their life. It could be mindfulness meditation on its own or as part of a therapy like Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) or Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). You could have used it yourself, or watched or helped a loved one.

If any of these sound like you, you need to be living in British Columbia, Canada, and ideally should not have shared your story in Visions before. Anyone can contact us, but we will give special preference to stories outside Metro Vancouver, those featuring substance use, and those where a person can share any challenges they had with mindfulness, as these three perspectives are the harder ones for us to find.

You don't have to print your real name with the story. Articles are less than 2 pages long and you'd have a month to write. You'd even get a small $75 honorarium after publication if we ok you to write. And remember you don't have to be a "writer" to write for Visions. Our professional editor will work with you to shape your story. If you can write an email and have a story to tell, you can write for us. Interested? Please don't start writing just yet. Contact us at [email protected] first and share a couple of sentences about your experience, and please include your community name, and a phone number as well!
