Every month, FamilySmart hosts events for parents and caregivers who are parenting a child or youth with a mental health and/or substance use challenge. We watch a video, take part in a discussion with a FamilySmart Parent Peer Support Worker, and connect with other parents and caregivers. In The Know events currently take place online.

How to Talk to Your Child About Their Disorder

For many families, finding the right time to talk to children about their mental health can be really challenging. This 'in the know' highlights what parents should know, when the right time to seek help for your child is, and what to say when talking to your child about their condition. To watch the video and join a discussion with other families, learn more and register at familysmart.ca/event/smithers-how-to-talk-to-your-child-about-their-disorder/.
