One of the greatest quotes attributed to the late baseball legend Yogi Berra is “Baseball is 90% mental. The other half is physical.”
Stress is the response of your body and mind to demands being placed on you. Some stress can be helpful when it is manageable and feels proportional to the tasks or situations that need your attention. Too much stress, though, can take a real toll on your mental health and well-being.
Stress and anxiety are often used interchangeably, and there is overlap between stress and anxiety. Stress is related to the same ‘fight, flight, or freeze’ response as anxiety, and the physical sensations of anxiety and stress may be very similar.
Learn more about stress. Stress is a normal reaction to difficult or demanding situations. Some stress can help us work through problems, but too much stress can have a negative impact on our health and well-being.
